Volunteer and Mailing List
The farm regularly hosts volunteer days on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We confirm volunteer days and that week’s projects via email earlier in the week using our volunteer mailing list. During volunteer days, we train people to engage in a variety of urban gardening activities, including row building, path building, seeding, seedling starting, mushroom inoculations, trellis building, watering systems, firewood splitting, composting, and more. Volunteers may come as little as or as much as they can based on their capacity and availability, and are not expected to attend every week throughout the year.
Additionally, if you are required a minimum number of volunteer hours by a third-party entity, the farm will certify requisite forms, as we are a registered 501(c)(3) and can satisfy volunteer hours for a variety of programs (please check with your program first).
Benefits of volunteering include:
Free produce to take home following volunteer day
Free trainings and mentoring on urban agriculture during volunteer days
Invitation to farm social events (including firepits, etc.)
Signing off on required volunteer hours for other programs
Invitations to farm events, including workshops, trainings, special sales, etc.
To sign up for our volunteer mailing list, fill out the form below. There is no cost to volunteer, and membership in the farm is not required. Volunteers are expected to abide by the Edgewood Community Farm Standards.
In addition to signing up below, please complete our Demographic Survey to help us secure funding from foundations.
We do not have volunteer days on three-day weekends, the week of Thanksgiving, and any other dates specified in our newsletter and social media accounts.
