Our Policy
Equal Access
Edgewood Community Farm does not discriminate based on disability. We are committed to providing equal access to all public activities.
Reasonable Accommodations
We will make reasonable modifications to our programs to accommodate individuals with disabilities, unless such modifications would cause undue hardship or fundamentally alter the nature of the activity.
Examples of reasonable accommodations include:
Alternative communication methods (e.g., visual aids, verbal instructions, or simplified guides).
Adaptive tools or equipment to enable participation.
Flexible assignments that match individual abilities.
Allowing support personnel (e.g., aides or job coaches) to accompany participants.
Physical Accessibility
We strive to make our farm pathways, restrooms, and work areas reasonably accessible.
If you need assistance with physical access, please contact us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Effective Communication
Our team is trained to communicate effectively and respectfully with all participants, including those with developmental disabilities.
We will provide communication aids as needed to ensure everyone can fully engage in our activities.
Requesting Accommodations
We encourage individuals with disabilities to request accommodations in advance to help us best meet their needs.
To request an accommodation, please contact Deputy Farm Manager Nora Simon by emailing nora@ecfarm.org.
We kindly ask that requests be made at least one week before the event to allow adequate time for arrangements.
