Mission
Edgewood Community Farm is a non-profit urban farm in the heart of Washington, D.C. dedicated to addressing food justice and insecurity issues in Ward 5 by providing access to locally grown produce, flowers, mushrooms, and urban gardening resources; promoting and building community across racial, income, and intergenerational lines; and implementing sustainable and regenerative practices to address and reduce the impacts of climate change.
The farm was founded in the summer of 2022 when Edgewood community members and neighbors entered into an agreement with the Discalced Carmelite Friars, a local monastery, allowing us to convert a property previously used by Little Wild Things Farm as a flower farm into a nonprofit community urban farm dedicated to food access, food justice, community building, and more.
